NDIS Support - Pilates for Every Body

Pilates can often come across as exclusive, for the rich and famous, or pretty, young and thin. This is a huge misconception unfortunately perpetuated by social media but we can assure you that our version of Pilates, is for every body!

The way in which we operate at Movementality Pilates, facilitates equal access for anyone who is looking to make a genuine lifestyle change through Pilates.

Rob assisting an NDIS participant through their Pilates exercise

How we do this:

  • We have varied equipment that can be easily modified to each participants needs;

  • We are at street level access and have a disability accessible bathroom

  • We are trained across multiple rehabiliative spaces including physical rehabiltation and sports science, somatic movement therapy and functional neurology, which means we work with the whole person.

  • We have created a safe and non-judgemental space where we encourage open minds and curiosity and will support anyone willing to help themselves.

    The NDIS participants we’ve worked with in the past have had conditions that impact their physical health and functionality, but also their mental health, emotional health and cognitive function. We always work to the pace of the client, and although we have a rough plan we try to adhere to, we can be flexible where required, to better focus on the person in front of us and their specific needs on the day. Clients have also ranged from being self-managed, to being approved by a case-manager, and either come on their own or with a support worker.

    We generally recommend starting with 4-6 private sessions first, so we can assess if our approach will match your expectations, and then there is potential to join the semi-privates or stay in the private setting if you prefer. However, this can be assessed on a individual basis, and may move between options depending on how a client progresses and their comfort in the studio.

    Please note that we are not a registered NDIS provider. Due to the nature of our small setting, the rebate offered from NDIS isn’t financially viable for 1:1 sessions. It is financially viable for our semi-private sessions, and we’re happy to assist you if this is something you’d be interested in.
